What Is Your Financial “Plan B?”

Feeling the financial squeeze of the economy? Regardless of our ages, we are all moving towards our “Golden Years.” The big question today is…what financial position will we be in when we finally get there?

Retirement is something every working person dreams of…the days when folks are able to heave the alarm clock out the window, and begin to enjoy the freedom to live the life they’ve waited so many years for. A time to enjoy family, friends, travel and indulge in the finer things life has to offer.

With the economy falling on hard times, the stock market suffering, retirement plans plummeting, and the housing market crashing,…many working folks dreams of retirement have dissipated into thin air. Their plans to retire at that magical age no longer exist. The only plan they have now, is to continue working well into their Golden Years…not because they want to, but because they have to.

With the failing economy, we need a strong financial back up plan more than ever. During times of financial crisis, home based businesses skyrocket. Here are a few of the rewards and advantages of building a home based business:

  1. Very low start up costs
  2. Escape the clutches of Uncle Sam with tax savings
  3. The flexibility to build your business in your spare time..at home

There are many reasons people are turning to network marketing and to other home based businesses. Some people are trying to secure a secondary income. Others may dislike their current job and are just waiting for the day they can “fire their boss.” Many other folks are working on their financial “Plan B” to retire at an early age. Other people are completely devoted to creating a financial legacy for their children and grandchildren.

If you don’t have a backup plan as far as your financial future is concerned, you may want to take a look at building a Network Marketing or home based business. As you delve into your new endeavor, and your business begins to grow, I’m sure you will agree the personal and financial rewards of owning a home based business…are limitless.

Hey Anne,

Gosh you hit the nail on the head with this. So many people live off credit cards and have second mortgages on their homes for many reasons.

If they would just open their eyes to the fact that Network Marketing can be a viable source of income and not just a hobby, they have a way out of their financial mess.

Who the heck want’s to retire only to end up being a Wal-Mart greeter to make ends meet? Not me!

It’s not a get rich quick scheme, unfortunatly a lot of people see it that way due to the scams out there.

It’s also not something that is automatically going to generate income by you sitting on your butt and doing nothing. You do have to invest time and learning, but I would rather do it on my own terms than punch a clock for someone else.

Great post!

Good morning Twila,

It all goes back to planning ahead no matter what your career is. There may be unknowns lurking around the corner that we have no control over. If we are financially well prepared, we can deal with these circumstances and deal with them effectively if and when they arise.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi Anne,

Wow, here’s a great post that needs to be shared all over the internet. So many people are hurting out there. And many of them still have no clue what network marketing really is.

“Network marketing has proven itself to be a viable and rewarding source of income, and the challenges could be just right for you. There have been some remarkable examples of success, and those successes have been earned through diligence, enthusiasm and the right product combined with timing.” -Donald Trump

Make it a great day!

Having a backup plan is critical when you are starting a small business or telling your boss to take a hike.

I recommend and tell people that they should start their business while they are still employed, slowly building that customer base and building an emergency fund of cash to survive during the lean months.

People quitting their jobs and going out on their own should sock away at least 6 months to a year of living expenses in order not have to bail on their business.

Hi Joshua,

Starting a business while still employed is a great way to get your feet wet and to see if you can handle the responsibilities that go along with it. It’s not an easy task, but if there is a true desire and perseverance, success is sure to follow.

I appreciate your input…have a great night.

Hello Anne,

Another great post!

It is so important to have a financial back up plan. Most people fail to plan and you know what they say: that is like planning to fail. If you do not have a sound plan of what do if your current situation changes, then you are setting yourself up for a disaster; especially during such rocky economic times.

Thank you for sharing that advice

Hi Alicia,

Everyone needs to have a back up plan. We may need to fall back on it for several reasons including health, job loss as well as rocky economic times. We just never know what’s lurking around the corner.

Have a wonderful Friday! Thanks for stopping by…
